" Money is something which everyone accepts in exchange for goods and services". 

Learning by doing motivates the students to step out of their comfort zone, and discover something that enhances their life skills.    Students of Grade 1 enjoyed and at the same time learned how to do petty cash transactions. They enjoyed shopping from the 'Xaverian Stationary' using fake currency. 
In a group of 4 students purchased multiple stationary items and later using addition they calculated the amount and paid money to the shopkeeper. 
Students learned that different coins and paper money have different values. 
They recognized the names and values of different coins and bills used in exchange for goods and services.
